Inside the fit room: a quiet kind of science
How we size between the sizes, why we don't believe in universal underbust numbers, and what a second opinion in the fit room usually changes.
By Ana Komar

Sizing is the quietest kind of science.
A 70B on a MATAN grading card is not a 70B on your last bra. We refuse universal underbust numbers because nobody's ribs average out.
How we test fit
Three models, two temperatures, one afternoon. We test every new style across sitting, standing, reaching, laughing, yawning. If a strap migrates during laughter, the strap is wrong.
The second opinion
Our fit room has a rule: the first opinion is the designer's. The second opinion belongs to the person wearing it.
The second opinion almost always changes something.
